A free trial can become a long record of sleep, cycles, mood, meals, routes, and biometrics. That record may be more sensitive than ordinary shopping data. Read who receives it, what happens after cancellation, and whether basic access depends on recurring payment before choosing a platform.
Map the data flow
List sensor data, manual notes, location, contacts, connected health platforms, advertising identifiers, and third-party analytics. Check whether optional permissions can remain off and whether the service sells, shares, or uses data to train systems. Privacy labels are summaries; the detailed policy and settings determine control.
Price the useful feature over three years
Separate hardware cost, required membership, premium coaching, family profiles, replacement sensors, and price increases. Note what remains when payment stops: raw history, exports, basic tracking, or nothing. A discounted annual plan is poor value before the service has proved useful for several months.
Test export and deletion early
Download a sample export and see whether it is readable. Find the account-deletion route before years of data accumulate, and understand backups or legal retention.
